Upcoming books for May 2023

These are the books I am most looking forward to. I've been lucky enough to read ARCs of two of these books. My reviews will be linked at the end of their summary.

The Secret Book of Flora Lee - Patti Callahan Henry (Publication Date: May 2, 2023):

Hazel and Flora are young girls sent away during the London bombings. They have developed a game and a new land they can visit and no one will know. One day Flora disappears without a trace. Twenty years later, Hazel is set in her life until a package shows up that only her sister could have sent - does this mean her sister is still alive??

The Wrong Good Deed - Caroline B. Cooney (Publication Date: May 2, 2023):

The life of two women in a senior living facility is suddenly upended when their pasts come back to haunt them. Memories haunt them at every corner and they must find a way to avoid the. You can read my review here.

The Postcard - Anne Berest (Publication Date: May 16, 2023):

When a mystery postcard shows with the holiday mail, the Berest family files it away and seems to forget about it. When the daughter decides to figure out the mystery, the family story begins to unravel. This story takes place before, during, and after The Holocaust and the camps were liberated. The Chateau - Jaclyn Goldis (Publication Date: May 23, 2023):

Seraphine Demargelasse, the owner of the Chateau, has invited her granddaughter and her friends to come to visit for the weekend. After a day of celebration, their host is found murdered. As each girl points the finger at one one of the others true friendship is tested. The search for the murderer reveals the secret as well as the murderer.

Drowning - T.J. Newman (Publication Date: May 30, 2023):

Moments after takeoff, Flight 1421 crashed into the Pacific Ocean. The plane sinks to the bottom of the ocean after a secondary explosion. There is only one rescue team that can help them - the soon-to-be ex-wife of one of the passengers and their daughter. This is the follow-up to Newman's debut that skyrocketed to the top of the best-sellers list, Falling.
