The twentieth anniversary of the terrible slasher film, The Roofer, is coming up and the owner of a movie theatre wants to re-run the movie…forget that someone died in that theatre the last time it played. He works up an ad campaign and has an actress from the movie sign photos. When people bring up possible safety concerns, he assures them he is taking everything precaution to keep everyone safe, after all, there's no way what occurred twenty years ago can happen again…right?
I hated this book. This was 102 pages of my life that I will never get back. The plot had the potential to be a good, scary horror read but failed miserably. The whole story made me want to bang my head against the wall. I forced myself to finish this book out of spite. I don't understand how this won a Bram Stoker award honestly. I only gave it the 2-star rating I did because I feel bad giving any book 1 star but it was VERY close.
