September Reads

The cool weather will start coming in soon which will give us a chance to enjoy watching the leaves fall and sinking into a great new story. While there are many amazing books coming out this month, these are the ones I am most looking forward to.


The Opera Sisters - Marianne Monson (Publication Date: September 6, 2022): Based on the true story of Ida and Louise Cook. When Hitler becomes Chancellor in 1933 and German Jews begin to be persecuted, their shared love of opera and their consistent appearances at the opera house make them the perfect people to help their Jewish friends leave the country before the worst of the war begins.


The Godmother: Murder, Vengeance, & the Bloody Struggle of Mafia Women - Barbie Latza Nadeau (Publication Date: September 6, 2022): The untold story of the first woman to climb the ranks of the Italian mafia and how she paved the way for those who came after her. The most famous female mob member, Pupetta Maresca, a woman born into the Mafia life and handles her husband's death in the way she best knows how - shooting his killer 29 times. More Mafia women are finally able to tell their stories and breakdown the stereotypes of a typical Mafia behavior.


The Ballad of Never After (Once Upon a Broken Heart #2) - Stephanie Garber (Publication Date: September 13, 2022): The continuing story of Jacks and Evangeline and their ongoing battle to not trust each other. After discovering her own magic, Evangeline believes she can get back the happy ever after she thinks Jacks stole from her. When she discovers a new curse, she realizes she may have to trust the Prince of Hearts again…even if she doesn't want to.


The Best Friend - Jessica Fellowes (Publication Date: September 13, 2022): Bella and Kate have been friends since childhood, whenever people saw one they saw the other. Once men came into their lives their friendship begins to change and they begin to purposely hurt each other. As adults, a shocking event tests them both and they may not both come out alive.



Mother Daughter Traitor Spy - Susan Elia McNeal (Publication Date: September 20, 2022): Violet and Veronica are starting new lives in California during World War II, far from away from the Nazis and all they stand for. One night, Veronica discovers that even America is too close to the Nazis when she discovers a Nazi sleeper group recruiting people in California. When Pearl Harbor is bombed, the women begin to realize just how important their discovery is.



Ghost Eaters - Clay McLeod Chapman (Publication Date: September 20, 2022): Erin & Silas have had an on and off relationship for years until he sends her a message to help him escape rehab and she decides It's time to move on. When she hears of Silas' sudden death from an overdose, Erin is flooded with remorse over ending their relationship. After discovering that Silas believed he found a pill that would allow him to see the dead, she attempts to do the same in order to ease her feelings of guilt.
