Stephanie Plum is hired by a local jeweler to find his former security guard who he believes stole from him, along with another man. In addition to dealing with that, she still works in the bail bonds office. Along with her sidekick, Lula, she is taking care of Morelli's dog, Bob, while he is away. When a series of unbelievable events occur, Stephanie ends up living with Lula and the former security guard, Nutsy. All sorts of mayhem occurs and there may be a life-altering decision for Stephanie to make.
I'm so glad I didn't give up on this series! The last few Plum novels have had me questioning if I should continue but this one made up for that in spades. It was nice to see Stephanie back to her normal self as opposed to the angsty character she had become. Lula, as always, is a handful but Stephanie loves her because of that. Lorelei King, as always, is the perfect narrator. She has each character's voice is embedded in my head and that is how I will always hear them. I must discuss the ending - it was not expected. I hope Stephanie will make a choice of the path she wants her life to take. Stephanie Plum is one of my favorite characters and I want her to end up happy.
