I wasn't sure what I was getting into with this book and had no idea what to expect. The story started off with Lila planning the funeral for her Grandpa with the help of her Aunt Ada. Lila learns she has inherited her grandfather's house but quickly comes to discover that the old home holds more than a large array of repairs. During her time there, Lila meets a smarmy young attorney and a single father trying to find his way after a divorce. Old mysteries come back to haunt Lila and her family and one has to wonder if it is ever going to stop.
I enjoyed the story but felt there were some consistency issues and the plot fell out in some places. If the author had paid a little closer attention to these little issues, the story really could have been something amazing. It should be noted that I will be reading other Obituary Society books as I feel the author still has quite the story to tell.
