The Watergate Office building was burglarized in 1972…rather the office of the Democratic National Committee was burglarized. The burglars has hoped to find information that could be used in the Nixon re-election campaign. This book goes into detail about the Watergate investigation, those who were responsible, and ultimately the resignation of the President of the United States. Using actual documentation, the reporters who first broke the scandal explain how it all happened.
I have read about other significant political and historical moments but never Watergate. I appreciate how detailed the book was. It very clearly answered the essential questions for moments like this: who, what, where, when, and why. It was interesting to read about all of the hijinks that occurred in the Nixon administration after the burglaries, and more importantly, what happened before them. I enjoyed reading this book and learning about something that occurred before I was born.
